Some photographers chase mountains. Others search for waterfalls or wildlife.

For me, few landscapes are as captivating as salt works, one of the rare subjects capable of distracting me from boats.

What fascinates me is their ability to transform from a highly functional industrial site into something unexpectedly artistic when seen from above. Shapes become geometry, roads become lines, and ponds turn into a palette of colours ranging from deep blue to emerald green and vibrant pink.

These are places where human engineering and natural processes work together to create patterns that often look more like paintings than photographs. Through my drone and aerial imagery, I seek to highlight this unique balance between utility and beauty.

The title of this collection is a nod to Salt Works by Tom Hegen, a photographer whose work played a significant role in shaping my appreciation of salt landscapes and aerial abstraction.
